Key Notes

  • The “cN” suffix (c1, c2, c5, etc.) = “continuous N” — it points to the Nth active contract in the futures curve.
  • All London #5 Futures prices (LSUc1, LSUc5, etc.) are quoted on an FOB basis (Free On Board + stowed at origin port). They do not include freight or insurance to the destination port.
  • LSUc5 is one of the most popular because it often represents a well-traded later nearby month and is frequently used as the default “London Sugar” reference in many platforms and news.
  • LSU1! is the best choice when you want a single long-term chart without manual rolling between expiry months.
  • All these are traded on ICE (Intercontinental Exchange) Europe.
  • For current market level / physical pricing reference → Look at LSUc1 (front month) or LSUc5 (these are FOB benchmarks).
  • For historical trends → Use LSU1! (FOB basis).
