PVC is the third most produced plastic in the world, after polyethylene and polypropylene. Most of it goes into pipes, fittings, window profiles, cable insulation, flooring and film. India is one of the largest PVC importers in the world, because pipe demand for irrigation, water supply and housing has grown far faster than local capacity.

Ametheus supplies suspension-grade PVC resin on FOB and CFR/CIF terms to pipe and fittings extruders, profile and sheet makers, cable compounders, film and calendering plants, and trade partners. We ship full containers from established producing regions. We work on a contract basis and do not sell samples or retail lots.

Buying note: K-value sets the grade. Pipe and profile extruders usually run K-65 to K-67. Flexible and cable compounds use K-70 and above. Bottle and injection work uses K-57/58. For potable-water pipe, ask for residual VCM ≤ 1 mg/kg and confirm the grade against your BIS or export pipe standard. Tell us your process and formulation, and we will match the grade to it.

Packaging & Logistics

  • 25 kg multi-wall paper or PP/PE valve bags, palletised and shrink-wrapped, or loose-loaded
  • Jumbo bags (about 1 MT) on request
  • Full container loads; the net weight per container depends on container size and whether the bags are palletised (confirmed on each contract)
  • Bulk silo trucks for domestic deliveries, where available

Load-port inspection is done by an independent surveyor (SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas or similar), covering quantity, packing condition and sampling against the COA. Containers are checked to be clean, dry and odour-free before stuffing.

Storage & Handling

  • Store bags in a dry, covered warehouse, off the floor and away from direct sun and heat.
  • Keep bags sealed until use. Moisture pick-up raises volatiles and can cause processing defects.
  • PVC dust can form combustible dust clouds. Ground silos and conveying lines, and control dust in handling areas.
  • PVC releases hydrogen chloride when it burns or is overheated. Do not exceed the processing temperature on the producer TDS.
  • Full SDS is available on request.

Commercial Terms

  • Incoterms 2020: FOB load port, CFR / CIF discharge port (e.g. Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Kandla, Chennai), as agreed
  • Pricing: Fixed price per MT, or referenced to recognised benchmarks (e.g. ICIS / Platts / Argus PVC CFR India), as agreed
  • Payment: LC or CAD against documents on first contracts
  • Quality: Load-port and/or discharge inspection as agreed. COA, SDS and Certificate of Origin are provided.
  • Import compliance: Indian imports may fall under BIS quality-control orders and trade-remedy duties on PVC suspension resin. The buyer confirms the current position before booking, and we match the producer and documents to it.
  • Lots: From one full container up to multi-container monthly programmes
