Here is a practical, market-standard checklist used by brokers when working on behalf of charterers (especially for tankers, chemical, LPG/LNG, or dirty/clean petroleum products). It expands on the list you provided and is suitable for the first offer / indication stage.

Core Documents / Information Required with First Offer

Vessel Particulars & Technical

  • Latest Q88 (INTERTANKO Chartering Questionnaire 88 – preferably Version 6, Oil or Chemical variant as applicable)
  • Full vessel particulars / description (or updated Q88 + any supplemental particulars)
  • Current position + earliest delivery / availability + open ports / itinerary
  • Last 3–5 cargoes (with load/discharge ports and dates preferred)
  • Speed & Consumption (laden / ballast, including any eco speeds and fuel grades)
  • BWTS details (type, maker, installation year, compliance status)
  • Scrubber details (if fitted) – type, open/closed loop, compliance
  • Tank coating / condition (especially critical for chemical / clean products)
  • Pumping capacity / discharge rates
  • Manifold details / connection sizes
  • Cargo tank capacities / segregation capability

Surveys, Class & Condition

  • Drydock / Special Survey / Intermediate Survey dates (last + next due)
  • Class status report / Certificate of Class (with any outstanding recommendations or conditions of class)
  • Fitness reports / Condition surveys (if available)
  • Last SIRE / CDI / RightShip inspection report (summary or full, with date)
  • Port State Control (PSC) history – last 24 months (detentions + major deficiencies)

Certificates (key ones usually requested early)

  • Certificate of Registry
  • Class Certificate
  • Safety Management Certificate (SMC) + Document of Compliance (DOC)
  • International Ship Security Certificate (ISSC)
  • International Oil Pollution Prevention Certificate (IOPPC)
  • Civil Liability Certificates (CLC / Bunker / WRC as applicable)
  • Certificate of Fitness (for chemicals / gas carriers)
  • Ballast Water Management Certificate
  • Maritime Labour Certificate (MLC) status

Commercial / Ownership / Compliance

  • CPA or Fixture Notes / previous fixture history (recent relevant fixtures)
  • Owners’ / Managers’ full style and contact
  • P&I Club entry (Club name + Certificate of Entry summary if available)
  • H&M insurance confirmation
  • Sanctions compliance statement / ownership structure confirmation (beneficial ownership if requested by charterer)
  • Crew nationality / experience matrix (especially for officers)
